Marlsgate Wedding | Emily + Brandon

from Emily + Brandon

So many moments stood out to us. The whole day was a dream! One of our favorite moments was getting to go behind the house to the garden and dig up the bottle of Blanton’s we buried a month before the wedding. It was so special to have that intimate moment with just our family and wedding party. After we dug up the bottle Brandon went around and poured everyone a shot. The owners, Beau and Martha Ellen, gave a beautiful toast and we all cheered together! It really made us feel so special to get to sneak away from the party and be apart of this old southern tradition.

The best advice we can offer for future couples is to enter marriage with a servants heart. Focus solely on your attitude instead of who did what. True acts of service with no expectations always inspire others to act selflessly as well. This will allow you to show your spouse love in all ways not just words.

We had the best time working with April! The experience was everything we had hoped for! She made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole day. We are obsessed with our photos! I’m still getting compliments on our photos years later. I have many, many favorite photos but one that I brag about all the time that attest to how good her skills are, is the one she snuck of us in the bridal cottage. We snuck away right before our grand entrance to practice our first dance. She got the best candid shot of us waltzing in the kitchen through the window pane that just adds such an organic touch to this amazing intimate moment captured in time. We had no idea she was there until we got the photos back. Every time I see it I relive that sweet moment! I can’t recommend her enough to literally everyone I know!
